Software for independent carpet and flooring shops
Written for the people who actually run the shop: whoever is on the counter when the phone goes, the estimator out measuring, and the owner trying to work out on a Friday which quotes never came back.
On the counter
A customer rings or walks in. You take their details and the rooms they want doing, Floorcast works out how long the measure needs, and you offer times that actually fit the estimator's day. If they insist on Thursday at two, you book Thursday at two.
In the van
The estimator opens their day on a phone: visits in order, addresses, the areas and flooring groups to measure, product and supply notes pulled from your price list, and check-in and check-out so the shop knows where things stand.
Quotes and follow-up
Quick Quote prices the job from your own rates and prints a branded quotation the customer can take away. Saved quotes can be reopened and updated under the same reference, and job stages record what happened afterwards — quoted, order taken, fitted, or lost.
What the owner gets out of it
- How many measures were done, and how many became orders.
- Which jobs are awaiting fitting and which are overdue.
- Where quotes are going quiet and need chasing.
- Fitting payments worked out from your rate card, with a printable wage report.
Where a broader system is the right answer
Floorcast deliberately stops short of stock, purchasing, accounts and invoicing. If those need to live in the same system as your diary, a full flooring ERP will suit you better. Most early-access shops keep their accounts where they are and use Floorcast for the diary, jobs, quoting and fitting pay.
Questions retailers ask
- We are a two-van shop. Is this too big for us?
- No. Small independents are exactly who Floorcast is being built with. One showroom and a couple of estimators is a typical early-access shop.
- Can the counter produce a price for the customer there and then?
- Quick Quote works out quantities and prices per room from your own price list, including underlay, gripper, door bars and fitting, and prints a branded quotation for the customer.
- Do we have to type everything twice?
- The measure booking, the job record, the quote and the reporting share the same customer and areas, so job stages and conversion figures come from work you have already done.
- Will it handle our fitters' pay?
- Floorcast calculates fitting payments from your rate card, including per-room and per-square-metre rates, minimum charges, crews and day rates, and prints a wage report. It is not a payroll system.
- When would we need something broader?
- If you need stock control, supplier purchase orders, sales ledger, VAT returns or invoicing inside the same system, you need a fuller ERP. Floorcast is the diary, jobs, quoting and fitting pay side only.
- What does it cost?
- Pricing is not published while Floorcast is in early access. Request access and we will talk about it directly.
